About NFVHA
NFVHA own and manage 47 properties all within small rural villages in the New Forest District. On 30th September 2019 New Forest Villages Housing Association (NFVHA) merged into the English Rural Group strengthening a shared strategic direction by increasing an ability to deliver quality homes and services in rural communities.
Many villages across the New Forest are at risk of decline following the continued loss of services such as schools and pubs. Both English Rural and NFVHA believe that investing in just a handful of affordable rural homes can be a catalyst for stopping this decline. Without these homes, it is difficult for families to grow and remain, putting the long-term sustainability of the local economy at risk. Both English Rural and NFVHA have strong track records of working with communities in rural areas to deliver homes that meet an acute need. The community is invited to become involved through the design process so that the homes reflect the aspirations and sensitivities of local people.

What Is Proposed?
We are proposing to design, build and manage a small development of 10 affordable homes in Copythorne. These would be made available to rent by people with a local connection to Copythorne.
The scheme would comprise the following homes for rent:
· 4 x 2-bedroom / 3-person flats
· 4 x 2-bedroom / 4-person houses
· 2 x 3-bedroom / 5-person houses

Proposed Location

The proposed site is located to the south of The Haywain public house and to the east of New Inn Road, Copythorne. Access to the proposed homes would be directly from New Inn Road. The development site is approximately 1.0 acre in size and comprises of a relatively flat grassed field and paddock.

All the homes we build are community-led and designed to benefit local people. We are also one of the leading national advocates on affordable rural housing issues, with HRH The Princess Royal as our Patron.
Generally speaking, we develop our homes on ‘rural exception sites’. This enables us to ensure they are affordable and secured for local people – forever. Our residents and the local community are at the heart of what we do.
Affordable doesn’t mean poor quality. Our homes are designed and built to high standards, usually using local design features and ensuring that their environmental impact is minimal. We build beautiful homes that villages can be proud of and our homes consistently win awards for design and construction.
